Emergency Tooth Extraction in Indianapolis

Emergency Tooth Extraction

Nobody wants to lose their teeth. However, it is sometimes necessary
for us to extract your tooth or teeth in an emergency visit. An
emergency extraction happens when your tooth must be removed immediately
in order to save the rest of your teeth, or in order to stop you from
experiencing more pain.

Why emergency tooth extraction?

There are situations that warrant an emergency tooth extraction. Some
of these are described below.

Severe tooth pain

If you are experiencing severe pain that doesn’t go away, you need to
be checked by your dentist. Extraction may be necessary.

Swelling around your tooth

If you have swelling around your tooth (which sometimes has pus), it
could be a sign of an infection. Sometimes the infection has already
damaged your nerves. In this case, emergency extraction may be
performed.

Damaged tooth

Damage to the tooth can appear in the form of cracks or breaks.
Sometimes the damage is a result of an accident. If you damage a tooth,
you need an immediate evaluation. If the crack or break is large and
painful, emergency extraction may be necessary.

You can check for these signs at home, but it is only your dentist
who can advise whether an emergency tooth extraction is required. To
